Château de Saint Paterne

We stayed at Chateau de Saint Paterene on our way back from Bordeaux to England. Located on the outskirts of Alencon, and just a few minutes off the motorway, the location is very convenient and feels like you're in the middle of the countryside. Our room was charming and very comfortable. We enjoyed strolling around the grounds and dinner on the lawn with an apero reception in the evening, which was relaxing and meant we didn't have to drive anywhere. Breakfast was plentiful and served in the beautiful dining room overlooking the grounds. There is an honesty bar too. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is nothing not to like...and being in the business, we can be really picky. We would be very happy to return again.

A delightfully authentic chateau stay. The rooms are exquisitely decorated in a shabby chic style with many artefacts and relics. The grounds are vast and perfect for our two dogs. The evening drinks is great fun to meet other guests.

The dinner cooked by the owner is fabulous but if you have any dietary restrictions it is a good idea to notify them ahead of arrival.

Beautiful building, thoughtfully and originally furnished, felt very comfortable and homely.

Wonderful building and grounds.

Small room, felt grubby although was clean. Expensive for what it is. Food and drink expensive. In a poor area of the town which you can feel if you walk around.
