Best Western Plus Hotel Bologna

The location is perfect, directly opposite the entrance to Mestre train station so ideal for jumping on a train in and out of Venice for only EUR 1.50 each way. The room was fresh, clean and large enough for us on a 3 night stay. The bathroom in the room was beautiful with a large walk in shower and lovely large fresh towels.

Comfortable rooms provided a haven for us at the end of a 3 week long vacation. Very easy access to Venice. Wonderfully kind and professional staff and delicious high quality breakfast.

Ac was controlled and only available 4-10pm so you couldn’t have it on while sleeping. This info was not disclosed upfront. and one of our two rooms the air didn’t work in anyway. We complained and no follow up or fix occurred.

Proximity to train station.

Staff was non attentive in the lounge when I approached in the morning just after 7am. They were both in deep conversation and did not acknowledge or engage with me. I walked out and went across the street for coffee. Second time we went in the Bartender was overly extended. It was near the end of his shift, I guess, and he was left by himself. Several guests were waiting for service and he was doing his best to keep up. One person to serve the whole lounge and outside. He was very professional and attentive when we were served. There was a family, with young children, standing by the bar having drinks while the kids were running around like they were in a playground. Not a relaxing environment for a couple trying to relax. We get it. It’s not something you can control. Elevator electronics were out of sorts one day. Buttons did not work properly. Took me to the wrong floor. It said I was on 4 but I was on 1. Had to switch elevators.
