Palazzo Scaramella – A Masterclass in Boutique Hospitality

As a career Hotel General Manager, my standards for accommodations are admittedly high. After a three-night stay at B&B Palazzo Scaramella, I can confidently state that this property is not only a "totally acceptable" substitute for a full-service hotel—it frequently exceeds those professional standards. It is no surprise that their guest satisfaction scores are so high; they are legitimately earned.
Service & Integrity
The host and owner, Valeria, provides a level of service that is increasingly rare. She was highly communicative via WhatsApp both in advance of and during my stay. Most impressively, Valeria noticed I had booked for two people when I was traveling solo; she proactively and thoroughly arranged a refund for the price difference without me even asking. This level of integrity and attention to detail is the hallmark of a world-class operator.
The Property & Amenities
Housed in a stunning building dating back to 1897, the B&B is located on the 4th floor (accessible by elevator). The room featured a king-sized bed, a private balcony, and a spacious bathroom equipped with a bidet and heated towel racks—amenities often reserved for much more expensive luxury brands, yet offered here at a very reasonable price point. The breakfast area is lovely, fully stocked, and Valeria is happy to customize it to your preferences.
Location & Atmosphere
The location in Salerno is ideal:
Transit: It is a short walk to the Manfredi Ferry Pier (convenient for avoiding the crowds at the main pier) and the Teatro Verdi park, where the Amalfi bus stops. High-speed rail links are also easily accessible.
The Neighborhood: The Duomo is a flat, 15-minute walk (attending Easter Sunday Mass there was a highlight). The street leads directly to the town center and a breathtaking waterfront promenade.

A acomodação é boa, boa cama, chuveiro bom.
A localização é boa, porém o porto turístico principal de Salerno (Concordia) e a estação de trem ficam a cerca de 2 Km do B&B. Um ponto para melhorar é disponibilizar café salgado, pois o café o servido é doce. Eu tive que solicitar pão e manteiga. Uma coisa que me desagradou bastante foi a anfitriã não permitir fazer o check-in às 10h, mesmo não tendo hóspedes no B&B, ficamos na rua e fizemos o check-in às 12h.

Location was quite good. Accommodation was very clean
Breakfast was poor. Substandard packaged brioche and biscuits. No air conditioning, small room. No TV which whilst not essential would have been nice.
