Hostellerie et la parenthese uzes

This small hotel is a little gem. The rooms are large and comfortable, and the excellent air conditioning was most welcome in the very hot weather. We ate dinner in La Parenthese on one evening and the food was excellent. So much so that we tried booking for our last evening but were unable to get in! The decor is eclectic, a lovely mix of avant-garde artworks, bright splashes of colour on the walls, along with carefully selected pieces of antique furniture. Really interesting and original. Every effort was made for our comfort. Both our bedrooms had irons and ironing boards included, most welcome when our linens and cottons were wilting in the heat! Cold water was provided in the mini-bar. Breakfast was fine, individually served at our table, and including freshly squeezed Orange Juice, yogurt, cheese., eggs (hardboiled) with fresh breads and pastries. But it is the owners and staff who really make this hotel so welcoming. Eric, front of house ,was always at the heart of things, with a delightfully droll sense of humour, while Francois was the executive chef and background 'fixer' of any problem that might ensue. All four of us enjoyed our stay at Hostellerie Provencale very much indeed.
