We had a wonderful stay at The Dongola Guesthouse. Located next to a nature reserve corridor, it is a wonderful place to sit outside close to the pool and enjoy the peaceful environment.
Karin and Claudio, the owners, are kind hosts who personally care about the infrastructure, all the workflow and especially about the wellbeing of their guests. Together with their well managed team they create a perfect experience. The trustful atmosphere and pragmatic advices lead to carefree days and undisturbed pleasure.
Natalie presents the good spirit of the house since many years - I especially loved her breakfast with eggs and salmon!
Usually, we do not depend on any special advices during our trips to foreign countries. Claudio understands to reflect the very personal preferences of his guests and gives appropriate recommendations where to go, where to drive and where to stop. We appreciated all your hints, Claudio! Enjoying the sunset at the terrace at Strand was just one of the great experiences we would have missed without your guidance.
Thank you for these relaxing and inspiring days! We will be back.

I had the most incredible time at Dongola House! Our stay was beyond amazing, and it wasn't just because of the spacious and impeccably clean rooms that were tended to every day. The experience was elevated to new heights by the extraordinary hosts and staff. Natalie, in particular, stood out as a genuinely warm and kind individual who consistently checked in on us, ensuring our comfort and happiness throughout our stay.
The breakfasts at Dongola House were not only delicious but also served promptly, setting the tone for each day. The variety of options available was simply astounding. What truly amazed me was the meticulous attention to detail that the staff exhibited. They even noticed my preference against bananas without me having to mention it – talk about going the extra mile!
The small touches truly made this trip unforgettable. From thoughtfully setting out two cups for my mother and me to being readily available to cater to our needs, the entire team demonstrated an unparalleled level of dedication to our satisfaction. What's more, our room was graciously upgraded without any extra charge, allowing my mother and me to stay right next to each other.
Even though we visited during the winter when occupancy was low, the exceptional level of service remained consistent and outstanding. I can only imagine how stunning Dongola House would be in the summer – a true home away from home, no matter the season.
To sum it up, Dongola House offers an experience that goes above and beyond expectations. With its remarkable hosts, top-notch staff, and attention to even the smallest details, it's an oasis of comfort and luxury. My mother and I would undoubtedly choose to stay here again, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking an unforgettable getaway.
