Agar Cottage

This is a characterful cottage. Clean and comfortable and close enough to Port Isaac and Padstow as well as other rainy day options nearer St Austel, such as The Lost Gardens of Heligan to make a great base. We also walked lots of bits of the coastal footpath from here - both from the front door...its only about a mile from the path over the fields from the village....and using the car. And, while the kitchen is well-equipped, there are also lots of local eatery options for those days when you'd rather not cook too! It was a shame we had to go home!

If you're tall and not used to older properties, just remember to duck your head as you wander the cottage...particularly going along the landing to the bathroom and navigating the step from the utility room into the kitchen!

The process from booking to checking in was as easy as could be, full support from the host should you need it at any time. A lovely home made Victoria Sponge awaiting us on arrival, which was well received by my hungry bunch! For us the location was perfect, you are quite central to the most stunning coastline and restaurants. The facilities at the property were excellent, everything you may have at home is in the property, and I mean everything! Plenty of cutlery & crockery, so the dishwasher was a gem! On the road to Port Isaac, take advantage of the breakfast in the farm shop, a little gem!

Only issue was parking, but wouldn't necessarily be for everyone, my car is really long and wide, I had to consider an alternative location up the road to park. One space at the rear was fine, we had two cars, not a problem if you don't mind a few minutes walk, unloading and loading was also fine.

A peaceful location from which to move to and from the more touristy bits. The property was more spacious than most, well equipped, clean with plenty of outside space.

I cannot really think of anything we did not like, perhaps the low ceiling outside the bathroom but that was really all.
