Lovely greeting as soon as we arrived, very friendly young lady named Grace helped check us in and show us to our room..
She gave us a guide on what to do and how to get in if we needed to after the pub doors closed. We also got a discount on drinks from the bar, which was great!
The proximity to the Grande Theatre where we were watching a show was spot on. Great central loctation.
The bar staff at night (sorry I didn't get names) were wonderful too, very smiley and welcoming, a real credit to the place.
Got little bottles of shampoo and shower gel in room
Tea/coffee making facilities with cute logo'd mugs.
Had a little (but quite dated) plug in heater if needed.
No parking, advised of street parking close by, but we were afraid we wouldn't get a parking space, so caught the train instead of driving.
The form signed on arrival stated that if we'd have got there after 4pm, they reserved the right to rebook the room, we weren't aware of that.
The bed was quite uncomfortable, and the springs made a noise if you moved even a little bit, the quilt very worn and lumpy..
There was lots of loud noise outside which we could hear all too well until about 3.30-4am.. Sounded like it was from local nightclubs/bars (chatter, music, drunken shouting etc)... Earplugs were supplied in the room, but unfortunately we found sleeping with them difficult.
The property is definately in need of some TLC. It is an old building, however it could be maintained a lot better. It's is a shame as it has a lot of positives with the location, staff and downstairs in the bar was quite cosy, but I suppose this is reflected in the cost.
This review isn't to knock the place, we are just trying to give an honest account of our stay. We did say we would stay overnight again, so the good outweighs the bad.

It was central to were we wanted to go and the pub was a bonus as if your staying they knock 15%off the bar bill
We were at the front, so Wes very noisy at points with a nightclub being opposite, fortunately im deaf in one ear , so put my good one down
