About this house rental
LOCATION: THE HOUSE IS 1 KM FROM THE SMALL CENTER OF ZOAGLI (about 2500 inhabitants). There is a main beach and other pebble beaches with transparent water, a paradise for diving enthusiasts.
A beautiful path cut into the cliff, easy for beautiful walks to the sea. You can walk to the train station in less than a quarter of an hour.
In Zoagli there are: a grocery store, a bakery, a pharmacy and some pizzerias, bars and restaurants.
Rapallo is 4 Km away and can be reached by car or train in a few minutes. Portofino by car (13.5 Km) and Sestri Levante (11km).
Very interesting are the boat trips from Rapallo or Santa Margherita to Portofino, San Fruttuoso and Camogli and from Rapallo to Sestri Levante and the Cinque Terre. Shopping can also be done in Rapallo, or in the historic center of Chiavari (6 Km).
DESCRIPTION: The "L 'Arenella" house, renovated in 2012, can be reached via a slightly uphill private road.
It can accommodate up to 6 people on two floors. On the upper floor there is a living room furnished with style and taste. There is also a fireplace. An open kitchen with dishwasher and microwave and a bathroom. In the living room there is a sofa that turns into bed and can accommodate 1 or 2 people. The lower floor can be reached via an internal staircase where there are two bedrooms.
There is a terrace of approx. 20, with a view towards Chiavari and Sestri Levante where you can comfortably dine and lounge under a beautiful sky where there are two deckchairs and a tent.
The car has its "private place".
From the terrace you can reach the "BELVEDERE" going up on foot among olive trees for about 5 minutes. From here, the view towards Portofino is breathtaking. All this is part of the property, but also accesses the "near" of the "Yellow House" (see photo). Here you can sunbathe, enjoy an aperitif or simply enjoy the view.
The beach is a 10-minute walk away.

We had a a very good time, the little Belvedere uphill is fabulous. The neighbors are very nice and have also helped a lot with great recommendations on sightseeing locations being not so crowded. Cristina and Julia are great hosts.

If you want to experience an authentic Ligurian stay, then this property is it. You are in the hills of Zoagli (a great little town that has an amazing sea promenade), with gorgeous views, and every amenity you need, to include parking and air conditioning.
The owners are very gracious and efficient. The amenities are cozy and comfortable. You are literally between Portofino and Cinque Terre, without being in a touristy area.
I HIGHLY recommend this awesome property and will rebook when I get a chance.

Mein Mann, meine beiden Kinder (11+13 Jahre) und ich verbrachten unsere Pfingstferien in diesem wunderhübschen Ferienhäuschen in Ligurien.
Vorneweg: das Haus ist tadellos, sauber, gut ausgestattet und so geräumig, dass auch mal ein Regentag - den wir zum Glück nicht hatten - gut überbrückt werden kann. Die Lage und der Meerblick sind grandios. Im kleinen Fernseher kann man an deutschen Programmen nur ARD und ZDF empfangen. Das Fernsehprogramm haben wir aber am aller wenigsten vermisst :-)
Was wir schon vermisst haben, war die Ruhe und Ungestörtheit, die uns die Lage des Häuschens und auch die vielen positiven Bewertungen suggeriert haben. In der Vergangenheit war es wohl so, dass das Nachbarhaus, das auf dem gleichen Grundstück wie das Ferienhäuschen steht, nur hin und wieder genutzt worden ist und auch die Plattform oben auf dem Hügel exklusiv nur den Bewohnern des Ferienhäuschens zur Verfügung stand. Das war leider während unseres Aufenthaltes nicht der Fall. Bis auf wenige Tage jeweils unter der Woche, waren immer 2 oder mehr Personen, meist junge Leute, im Haus. Das an sich wäre überhaupt nicht schlimm gewesen, wenn die Bewohner nicht auch sehr rege die - im übrigen sensationelle - Plattform Belvedere oben auf dem Hügel besucht hätten und dazu jedes Mal, da es nur diesen einen Zugang gibt, quer über unsere Terrasse laufen mussten. Ob beim Essen, Karten spielen oder Nickerchen im Liegestuhl, ständig musste man mit fremden Personen rechnen, die an einem vorbei laufen. Das hätten wir um einiges günstiger auch auf einem Campingplatz haben können! Frau Steinbrecher, die das Ferienhäuschen und seine Gäste sehr herzlich betreut, wurde von dieser Entwicklung wohl aber genauso überrascht, wie wir. Sie berichtete uns nach einem Gespräch mit den Vermietern, dass wohl in Zukunft eine zweite Treppe für das Nachbarhaus geplant sei. Belvedere wird aber trotzdem an Exklusivität und Romantik verlieren. Die Plattform wird gerade von einer ursprünglich natürlichen Aussichtsplattform in eine Sonnenterrasse mit Pavillon verwandelt. Als wir am 16. Juni abgefahren sind, haben sich die dort deponierten Liegestühle von einem auf bereits vier vermehrt, weitere standen noch verpackt in der Ecke. Nach Abgeschiedenheit sah es dort oben leider nicht mehr aus.
Insgesamt hatten wir alles in allem 2 schöne, erholsame Ferienwochen. Guten Gewissens können wir aber dieses ansonsten tolle Häuschen aufgrund unserer o. g. Erfahrungen nicht weiterempfehlen. Verena mit Familie
