Characteristic and comfortable Norman house with garden in the town of Port en Bessin!
A perfect location: you can walk straight to the harbour with its pleasant restaurants and shops.
Take a dive in the sea in the morning and visit the daily fish market.
Buy fish, seafood or lobsters, straight from the sea. Prepare them on the barbecue in your garden!
Port en Bessin is located near the world-famous D-day landing beaches.
It's the number one fishing harbour of Normandy. The port city was visited often by famous painters like Seurat, who found inspiration for their paintings in the special atmosphere here.
Port-en-Bessin was an important link between the world-famous beaches Omaha Beach and Pointe du Hoc.
There are still many things to see here that remind of the Allied advance, like various wrecks from the war. The film ‘The Longest Day’ was also filmed here.
You couldn't find a more central location for a visit to the museums and invasion beaches. The medieval town of Bayeux (9 km) is just a 10-minute drive away. It offers many sights (a beautiful cathedral, famous 'Tapisserie de Bayeux' museums) and a very nice city centre.

Cute cottage house in great location to visit Normandy. Philippe, our host, was very friendly and met us at the house to explain all about the house and places to go.

This is a house updated with new kitchen and bath amenities. It has nice/stylish furniture and decorations. New washer/clothes dryer is nice for travels on long trips.
It is very clean and Anne was prompt to greet us upon arrival to Port de Bessin. If you want to visit Normandy this is a great location in Omaha Beach area and only 7 km to the Bayeux Tapestry. Port de Bessin is a nice seaside vacation town with numerous Restraunts and shops only 3 blocks away from the house, But with no noise of tourists.
On site parking is provided and it is Centrally located next to the church. Church bells chime on occasion but not enough to keep you awake. Nice charm
I will use this again when I return to Normandy.
