Rethymno Lighthouse was built in the 1830s. West, the hilltop Fortezza is a star-shaped, 16th-century citadel. The Historical and Folklore Museum preserves local crafts like textiles and ceramics. Long, sandy Rethymno Beach stretches to the east.
Rethymno, in Crete, is a rare combination of history and modern-day luxury, with its Venetian-era Fortezza fortress and multicultural Old old Towntown, tropical beaches and exquisite Cretan cuisine.
Walking around is like travelling back in time, to the period of Venetian rule in Crete. The Fortezza (fortress) sits at top Rethymno’s magical old town like a crown. Everything went fine and we had in Atsipopoulo a great time. The entrance of the appartment was situated inside of a garden with a very clean pool. Our appartment was on 2 floors, very confortable, also very clean with a little kitchen. Our guest keeper Manolis, was very sympathic. He was helping organising our days and giving good imput. Directly beside our entrance, you can get the best coffee in town with local bakery. Behind the appartment, you can find the old town, almost intact. It is worthed a walk in the evening for a nice meal in a local taverna. Thank you Manoli for taking care of us!

Très bon accueil et très grand confort pour ce petit ensemble de duplex realisés dans cette ancienne bâtisse du XVIIème siècle aménagée avec goût ! Les lieux sont beaux et reposants, les lits très bons... La piscine est belle et agréable sans horaires contraignants avec le bruit d'une petite fontaine qui s'y déverse venant agrémenter les chants des oiseaux et des cigales , et pour couronner le tout les petits déjeuners offerts par Manolis et sa maman sont savoureux et forts appréciés... Les lieux sont propres et nettoyés tous les jours et les hôtes toujours soucieux de répondre à vos besoins sans soucis (serviettes de piscine, machine à laver, bonnes adresses, cafés. ..). Le village est très bien avec des commerces de qualité à 2 pas. N'hésitez pas à errer le soir à la tombée du jour dans ses ruelles, vous vous croirez dans un vieux film de Scorcèse ! Nous reviendrons un jour, ce sera une étape incontournable.! Merci pour tout.!

Stedet og lejligheden levede 100% op til billederne og beskrivelserne fra forrige gæster. Værelserne var rene og hyggelige. Der lå et pyntet fad i stuen ved ankomsten med vin, frugt, chokolade og chips samt et kort med en hilsen fra værterne.
I køleskabet lå der to store flasker vand samt en juice. Badeværelset var rent og pænt. Der lå to håndklæder til hver.
Der blev gjort rent og skiftet håndklæder flere gange i løbet af én uge.
Utroligt venlige og hjælpsomme værter. Meget lækker græsk morgenmad hver dag med frisk nybagt brød, yoghurt, juice, kaffe m.m.
Roligt kvarter med få kilometers kørsel i bil til stor by med indkøb, butikker og smukke strande.
Vi har allerede lyst til at komme tilbage til Kreta igen
