I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this place and can highly recommend it to anyone looking for comfort and genuine hospitality.
From the moment I arrived, everything exceeded my expectations. The accommodation was spotless, beautifully maintained, and thoughtfully equipped with everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The atmosphere was calm and welcoming, making it feel like a home away from home.
What truly made the experience exceptional, though, was the host. He was incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to help with anything I needed. His warm personality and genuine care for his guests really stood out and made my stay even more special.
Overall, this was one of the best places I’ve stayed, and I would gladly return without hesitation. If you're looking for a place where you feel truly welcome and well taken care of, this is it.

Well located, very clean and comfortable with extremely friendly hosts. Good wine selection.
The food was overpriced for what is provided. Compared to other nearby places we dined at, the prices for dinner were significantly higher (despite it not being anything spectacular) and the portion sizes were relatively small.
Breakfast was nice with a good selection but again steep at 20 euros per person.
I would only dine here for the convenience of not having to drive out.

I can't say enough about how much we loved our stay at Villa Sumrak. It was so peaceful there and the brothers who hosted us were both wonderful to us. We travelled with our daughter, son in law, and 4 year old grand daughter. We explored Plitvice the first afternoon we arrived and we also went in first thing in the morning for a second visit before breakfast. The hotel seemed to us to be the best location over the more crowded entrances 1 and 2, if you prefer a quiet, more serene experience. We drove to from the hotel to entrance 3 and found parking the first day, and walked to the entrance from the hotel (15 minutes to the gate) the next day. It is a 25-30 min. walk from the entrance to the big waterfall, an inspiring way to start the morning! We enjoyed having dinner at the hotel, cooked by one of the brothers. There is a good selection of entrees which are between 20-35 euro and they have a good selection of wines for purchase as well. They text you on the morning of your stay with the menu and you just need to let them know your selection by 16:00 so they can prepare the meal before the 19:00 seating. It was so very nice to enjoy our dinner and try various wines in the hotel before walking upstairs to our rooms. Since we were the only family in the building that night, the brothers let us just hang out and enjoy our wines in the common room, which was wonderful. Both rooms were lovely and very comfortable. The breakfast the next morning (20 euro pp) was just as delightful with a spread of cereals, Eggs, bacon, sausage, crepes, homemade pastries and jams, juices, coffee, hot milk, etc. Just know to bring cash for the meals. Also, I am sure cash is appreciated for the rooms, but we did not have that much cash on hand so paid in card. We would love to return with our entire family and stay at Villa Sumrak and visit more of the park next time, as the upper lakes were closed due to heavy snow the week before.
