Outside, a 200 m² open area, a terrace, and a carport await you, perfect for enjoying sunny days in complete tranquility. Heating is electric, with the option of a wood-burning stove for cozy evenings. This 90 m² cottage accommodates up to 6 people in a historic stone house, nestled in the heart of a peaceful and rejuvenating mountain landscape. Escape is guaranteed here. Just a stone's throw from the cottage, the vast forests and trails of the Monts du Forez invite you to hike, on foot or by mountain bike, following the rhythm of the seasons. In winter, the Chalmazel ski resort, only 8 km away, offers downhill and cross-country skiing. In summer, fishing or swimming in the nearby lake (2 km) round out the activities. Sauvain, a land of cheesemaking traditions, also reveals its typical farms and local specialties. The absolute tranquility of the hamlet allows for complete relaxation, soothed by the rustling of the fir trees and the birdsong.

Le manque de neige et la pluie quasi omniprésente ont un peu gâché les vacances mais le gîte en lui-même est très spacieux (nous étions 3 adultes, 2 enfants de 12 et 15 ans) + 1 chien. L'environnement est très calme et propice aux ballades (quand il ne pleut pas à verse...). Très bon accueil du propriétaire qui habite juste à côté et disponible en cas de besoin. La pièce principale du gîte manque un peu de luminosité mais normal compte tenu de l'architecture (murs très épais et petites ouvertures de fenêtres pour éviter la dispersion de chaleur). Présence d'une cheminée très appréciée et qui fonctionne parfaitement. Coût du chauffage tout à fait raisonnable. La station de ski est familiale mais n'avons pas trop pu tester. Ballades possible à proximité de la station pour ceux qui ne skient pas. En résumé, le temps n'était pas vraiment de la partie mais nous avons apprécié notre séjour.
