Le Jardin De Maurice

The style of decoration was a mix of historic (old beams, stone features, rustic cabinets) with modern (iconic black and white photos, modern bathroom suite, modern Velux-style skylights) which I thought worked very well together. The "room" we had was effectively a large one-bedroom apartment on two levels with an entrance at ground level, so stairs up to a living room from ground level and several steps down to the large bedroom. This gave an interesting eclectic impression, which we enjoyed. This particular room came with a large garage, which is a bonus for parking. It also had a small fridge and Nespresso machine. The host, Hugo, was very helpful and friendly. Everything was clean and well maintained. Breakfast was simple but perfectly adequate.

Hugo could only greet guests in a 2-hour window form 4.30-6.30 pm, and we arrived later, but he gave us a good explanation of how to get access to the room and keys. The large bathroom is sited far away from the bedroom and up some stairs. Unfortunately there was no subdued lighting to guide the way in the night, so a phone light is required. While I understand about room cleaning issues, a latest check-out time of 10 am, or soon after, is too early for us. It gives little time to enjoy the surroundings, with breakfast being from 8.30-9.30 am.

Prachtige kamer, met grote badkamer, salon, grote slaapkamer. Fijn parkeren op het terrein, afgesloten. Ik had zelfs de afstandsbediening van de garage dus kon daar binnen parkeren. Op het laatste moment toch afgezien van het ontbijt, wat geen probleem was. Stond in de ijskast wat klaar om mee te nemen. Met de auto naar Beaune is 10 min. en het hotel ligt lekker rustig. Op de hoek van de straat zit een leuk restaurantje.
