Beautiful riverside location, clean, modern and welcoming host

No restaurant open in the town on Wednesday in May

Our ferry was late and we didn't arrive till 0200 so the owner left the key in our door and, a lovely touch, turned our electric blankets on. He arranged a later breakfast following our late arrival but we didn't need it. Breakfast was fantastic with wholesome choices of cooked as well as cereal and juice. Sadly our stay was only one night but we would highly recommend to anyone looking for a friendly, comfortable and historic place to stay. Thomastown is well worth visiting in its own right.

Michael the host was very friendly and helpful with everything. The room was beautifully decorated and immaculately clean and fresh. Plenty of tea/coffee/water in the room for refreshments and a great blackout blind for sleeping. The rooms are almost motel style with windows looking out onto the river which was a lovely start to the morning and I was delighted that privacy curtains were there for letting light in! Lots of parking in/around the BnB. Breakfast was delicious with a pot of coffee, sourdough toast (with lots of real butter!), granola, yoghurt and of course a cooked breakfast- fabulous!!

The check out time on booking.com said 12, but it’s actually 11am. Also maybe a note or info about when is best to check in would have been helpful as I had to attend a later dinner before arrival and I would have organised myself differently- though it was no issue at all in the end.

The guy was very friendly, I personally found the room very clean and it was very warm.

The food was very basic, and was Lidl produce. Now, it was okay, but 3 of our party of 4 claimed the sausages were sour. Your choices were Granola & Yogurt, and if you declined that, the only option was "Bacon, eggs and sausages". They were also Lidl sausages, and so was the seasonings. That's perfectly fine, I don't have an issue with Lidl food but for the price paid for accommodation including breakfast, I'd have expected more choices, and quality produce. There was no black or white pudding, no beans, no choice of the way you'd like the egg prepared and the bread was two slices, cut into 8 pieces.
