We received a complimentary upgrade to a Suite (Room 75). The room was lovely, but it was up four flights of stairs. As international travellers, our bags were quite heavy - fine if you just have an overnight bag. The bed was comfortable, but we weren't aware the night club was right outside our room - people and music kept us awake until 1pm. At 5.30am (no fault of the hotel), people were on the road with water blasters and street sweepers for over an hour. Would love to have enjoyed the room, but on less than four hours sleep I'm not feeling it! We also parked in their carpark, which was convenient but had to call to get directions to it. It was then quite a mission to navigate through the hotel to find the reception. Sadly, didn't meet our expectations.

The room was lovely (garden view) though not very private - some sheer curtains for day time would be good. You also have to walk through an uncovered outdoor area to get to this section of the hotel, which is fine if it’s not raining. The bed was comfortable and the room nicely decorated and spacious. The hall area outside the room is very noisy and echos considerably, so the noise of other guests coming and going disturbed us, but earplugs solved that. I found it to be a little impersonal, and the grounds between our room and the main part of the hotel looked a bit shabby. Terrible hair dryer. It’s across the River from the main part of town, only a short walk away and easy access to the castle. We walked everywhere.
