Edville Studio Riverside

Relatively easy to find, modern studio apartment with good facilities.

Walking access with bags difficult due to steps down to street where Edville is located. Steep narrow steps inside to all floors (no elevator). Inside apartment steps leading to upper studio level are not guarded and could pose danger of slipping or falling if not careful - beware, definitely not suitable for children.

I really enjoyed this property. It was very close to the location of work, it was big enough for my needs, the kitchenette was really sufficient for all my needs. All in all this was a great choice. The view of the canal and the extra fan in the room were both a bonus.

While I can highly recommend Edville Studios, I strongly advise against using Booking.com for flight bookings. My experience with a cancelled flight refund has been deeply frustrating and opaque. Booking.com acts as an intermediary for flight bookings, but in practice this has not made the process easier — it has made it significantly more difficult. If I had booked directly with the airline, I would likely have received my refund by now. Despite repeated communication, I have not been provided with clear evidence that a refund request has been formally submitted to the airline, nor any meaningful updates beyond generic status messages. This lack of transparency makes it difficult to understand what is actually happening behind the scenes. In one of my support interactions, I was informed that my case had been “escalated” and given “highest priority.” However, this appears to have been handled in a scripted or automated manner, as there has been no follow-up or visible progress since then. The most concerning issue is not simply the delay itself, but the absence of accountability and clarity in the process. For a customer, the expectation is straightforward: if a service is cancelled by the airline, the refund process should be transparent and traceable. From a broader perspective, it is disappointing that consumers are often left to rely on formal legal frameworks and escalation processes to resolve what should be a routine refund. That should not be necessary for a basic service failure scenario. Overall, while the accommodation itself was excellent, I would caution others to think carefully before using Booking.com for flight bookings.

Communication about the check-in process was excellent. The accomodation was exactly what was required. Whilst some people might describe the accommodation and resources as sparse/minimalist it had everything you could want. A great location and a great find. Will definitely return.

We were out the rain. The room we eventually got was clean and warm.

Not the best place when you arrive with your own car. Parking was about 15 minutes walking from the apartment. Our initial room had an unmade bed and it looked like someone had or was still staying in it. Luckily there was a person on site to solve it and provide us with another room. Opposite the apartment block is currently a building site. They started banging around 7 am. Not the sort of waking up service you hope to get.
