The staff were fabulous and very responsive. It was well laid out and spacious enough for our family. It was equipped with everything we needed and was serviced once during our stay. We had a fabulous time.
It was more of a walk from the lift/town than the map suggests as no steps directly down to the road. You have to walk away from the direction of Sunnegga before walking towards it. We were ok as all fit and well however if you have someone who isn’t as agile it could be challenging.

The layout for 6 was excellent with plenty of room. Outstanding furnishings and kitchen appointments. View of the Matterhorn was spectacular. Real luxury apartment. All 6 of us would return.
Apartment was a bit hot temp wise where we could not get the heat down. We cracked windows in response. Light switches were confusing to figure out.

I stayed in the top apartment at Matthiol in Zermatt, and honestly, it was everything the photos promised—a rare and glorious moment in online booking history. The views were incredible, the space was beautiful, and nothing felt misleading or overly “wide‑angle‑lens enhanced.”
The staff who picked us up at the train station were cheerful, friendly, and impressively strong (our luggage did not pack itself lightly). They made arrival smooth and stress‑free.
A quick note: the walk from the street to the apartment door is… let’s call it “cardio with luggage.” It’s fairly long, uphill, and roughly equivalent to climbing five flights of stairs. Not a deal‑breaker for us, but definitely something to keep in mind if mobility is a concern—or if you're allergic to unexpected exercise.
Once inside, everything gets easier. The elevator gives you direct access to the ski room and spa, which was incredibly convenient. Booking the spa was a breeze, and having it right on site was a big bonus.
Location-wise, it was excellent for skiing. You can stroll (all downhill!) to the Sunnegga entrance in about 8 minutes, and skiing back in is even better—you glide right down next to the CERVO resort almost to the doorstep.
Overall, we absolutely loved our stay. The apartment was gorgeous, the staff were wonderfully relaxed and helpful, and the whole experience felt calm, comfortable, and well thought out. Would definitely stay again—after doing a few stair‑climber warm‑ups first.
