Booked for 5 nights. Each day was in excess of 35 degrees. /C did not work from day 1. There were 7 contacts with staff (some were helpful and apologetic) others suggested we were incompetent in the use of the remote. The room was on the top floor so the heat in the room was oppressive. The technicians were unable to diagnose the problem and until we asked for a fan nothing was offered to assist. Suffice to say we did not sleep during the stay. After we complained we were provided a small financial compensation however well short of the amount we prepaid in full for a room with a working A/C. The beauty of the view from the room was tarnished because we had to keep the external awnings closed to keep out the afternoon sun. A few members of staff acknowledged however whoever they employed to fix the problem were unable to respond quickly and subsequently unable to fix the A/C before we left. The only solution was to turn off and turn back on the safety switch which kept tripping and shutting down the A/C. Obviously this wasn’t a fix!! Despite the wonderful location and spectacular views the one thing controllable wasn’t. Thanks to the staff Mimma (I think) Donnatella and a young gentleman of Italian and French heritage. They offered apologies a few others suggested this was of our own making and rejected our continued calls that the A/C was NOT working.
