This funky hotel is gorgeous to look at with wonderful little touches such as the pantry & record players but it was the staff at No 1 York who were just brilliant- well done to them all we loved our 2 night stay there

One of the best hotels I have stayed in. Room is a bit tight but little things like the LP player and coffee machine in a dollhouse made it better. Best part - pantry! Lotsa snacks and drinks to choose from.

This is a characterful hotel in a lovely part of York - would happily stay again. Rooms are creatively decorated and the staff were friendly. My only negative is that service was added to EVERYTHING without asking (including bringing drinks in the bar and your breakfast to the table) which felt a bit much having already paid to stay at the hotel. People don't tend to ask for service to be removed - but it should be a choice, not an obligation.

We had a lovely stay, staff were very kind and attentive. Loved the help yourself pantry and the bar has a great choice of cocktails and lovely ambiance. Room was lovely we stayed ina large guest room and it was beautiful. My favourite hotel in York and we will definitely be staying again!
