Broken beer bottles on walk through from car park. This was reported twice to two different members of staff, but sadly nothing was done about clearing it. Unkempt flower pots, broken with debris inside. Dried vomit and broken glass at the front of the hotel. Filthy toilet, which was cleaned by a member of staff who then proceeded to work behind the bar. Downstairs disabled toilet being cleaned by a front of house member of staff, who then returned to reception area. Lift broke down for a few hours, which was fixed
Generally shabby and unkempt. The only saving grace was that the mattress was comfy.
Visited this hotel three years ago and it was very different then.
I completely understand that these are budget hotels but hygiene and cleanliness is of paramount importance!
Considering this hotel is in York, I would have expected better from Premier! Would I stay here again? No and would I recommend it to a friend? Sorry but no. First bad experience with Premier and it’s certainly put me off staying again. Such a shame.
