+ very good. + leisure pool. My daughter enjoyed the swimming pool. + staff was very helpful. + loads of coffee/tea/creamer etc in the room + very spacious room with everything you need. + centrally located with free parking for car. - No lift. - one of 2 heaters in our room was not working. Room was big for just one heater. They had extra blankets though. - water was warmish at the max both in the room and leisure facilities. It wasnt cold. But the weather was so cold that we would have loved to take hot water shower.

What a horrible hotel - upon arrival the person at reception could not confirm if breakfast was included in our booking, our room and bathroom looked nothing like the pictures on the website - it was stuck in 1950. The shower was just about luke warm and the head required you hold it otherwise it would fall off the mount. The windows were riddled with mould and the room was in deperate need of a deep clean. The bathroom had stickers on the wall from a previous guest, no toilet roll holder, the chairs had white stains on the navy fabric and the knob of the radiator was broken off so we could not turn down the heat. To top it all off, ons the last night there was a big storm. We woke up to a dripping sound and droplets falling on our head and bed. When we turned on the lights, the roof was full of water droplets and a bubble formed on the wallpaper (used on the ceiling). Scared it would burst at some point, we moved our bed to the otherside of the room. An hour later we woke up to water bursting from the ceiling! My husband went down to reception in the storm (as the room also did not have a phone). The person at reception only gave him two new keys for rooms and did not come to investigate the damage. We have to change rooms in the middle of a storm (walking on the outside corridors of the hotel from the one point to the other) with no help from staff. The new rooms looked more like the website, but the smell of mould was clear. In the morning, two new people were at reception, they STILL had not gone to investigate the damage and asked us how bad it was, should they get someone to fix it? We told them about the mold and dirt and their reply was "Sorry its Scotland it happens". It is not! We have stayed in many clean, dry hotels in Scotland, this is just poor housekeeping and lack of care of guests. He then proceeded to have the audacity to ask are we planning to stay with them again! We told him definitly not! Like anyone would like to relive that! To top it all off, a blonde lady wearing a neck scarf (I presumed her to be the GM maybe? Cant confirm as I was too upset to look at her name tag) rolled her eyes at this comment! Rediculous and what a horrible way to treat your guests! The only good thing about this hotel was the friendly and attentive host at breakfast and good quality breakfast food.

Staff very friendly and helpful, food good, Leisure centre swimming pool still cold for at least 2 months now. Hair dryers not working has been like that for over a year and a half shocking.
