Beechwood B+B

We were traveling mostly by bus, and Kenny very kindly arranged with us to be home so we could drop off our luggage early before check in time and then drove us to the start of our walking explorations that day. He dropped everything again to give us a ride to the bus station on the morning we left. At breakfast each day, Kenny encouraged and joined in conversation with the whole table of guests from around the world, creating a sense of temporary community we didn’t find anywhere we stayed. In those few hours, we felt we got to know him (and our fellow guests) better and felt friendship above and beyond what we encountered in other stays.

Wonderful stay in Fort William after hiking the West Highland Way. Our host, Kenny, was friendly and extremely accommodating with delicious breakfast (with Italian coffee!) Our large room overlooked the water and was minutes from the main street with all the shops and restaurants. The luxury bath tub was an unexpected delight!

Kenny is the star of the Beechwood. He really was the most obliging and helpful host. The rooms were lovely and clean. I loved the underfloor heating in the bathroom, and the window I could open to listen to the little stream outside as I fell asleep. Walking distance to the main street with the shops, cafes, pubs and museum. We had some lovely downtime after walking the West Highland Way.
