An incredible hotel, with wonderful staff - this is a hidden gem.. its the attention to detail and the service that we loved (small family of 3 of us with an 8 year old daughter) - there is refurbishment work underway, but no impact on guests at all.. we will definitely return. Astonishingly, we discovered that the hotel is situated right in front of one of the (unexpectedly) best zoos I've ever visited. Absolutely love the design / layout - it reminded us of forest lodges we've stayed in throughout Japan - the woodwork and corridors - very unique and rare to find this in the UK.
Negatives are really non-existent, within the scope of our stay... this hotel all seems to be about the positives - they provided a lovely bunk bed room as we requested, the front service was exceptional - room was very clean etc etc .. we will certainly return there.

Very nice location and the idea behind the hotel and its architecture / landscaping is very uplifting for the spirit. Unbeatable value for money. Superb buffet breakfast. Plenty of parking. There is a decent bar should one require a tipple.
As a motorcyclist a bit more cctv covering the car park area would be welcome or a specific motorcycle park area with cctv coverage, within view of the restaurant / reception area and not sloping would have been great.

How peaceful it was and it was comfortable
The breakfast was cold but I was unlucky due to my fiancé having a warmer one. The balcony bit could do with some reinforcement due to it looking as if I’d fall though. It was sturdy enough but scary in a way.

We stayed for 2 weeks. The room was cleaned regularly, fresh towels daily. Marwell zoo a walk away. Shout out to Joe and Shannon who were amazing, friendly and compassionate staff.
The food was disappointing. Bones and gristle in chicken bites, egg shell in poached egg and omelettes. Over priced food £8.00 for 3 scoops of sorbet, and same price for tiny, tasteless dessert. Manager was heard talking to a member of staff saying “think your smart don’t ya” on phone and his concerns about the food…..Found him arrogant and unprofessional. Never approached us for a chat although sat with other guests..hotel exterior In desperate need of a clean, moss and cobwebs….room hoovered once during 2 week stay and I had to ask for that …
