Comfortable bed, clean rooms, helpful staff, ideal location for skiing.
Breakfast options were good enough in general but less for the price we paid. No fresh vegetables in the breakfast buffet- like tomatoes, cucumbers or paprika (as a vegetarian it was important). But the whatever was available was fresh and good quality

Beautiful dining room and lounge. Much nicer than the outdated photos on Booking.com show. Friendly accommodating staff and good food. The pool is a good size and the private sauna facility bookable for a nominal fee. Right in the centre of Kandersteg and convenient for walks and ski lifts
The room photos were a bit misleading as they show all similar rooms as if they are one. As a result our three teenage children were crammed into one bedroom when it appeared to be two separate sleeping areas. I raised this with the manager but was not offered a reduced price although she accepted it was misleading.

Amazing balcony with amazing unobstructed view. Big comfy beds, plenty of storage space. Really good shower. A full kitchen with everything you need. Good location in the center of Kandersteg, but the apartment building was off the main road so very little noise. Dogs are welcome.
The dining chairs were extremely uncomfortable. It’s kind of dark in the apartment, even with the lights on. No free parking, unlike some other hotels. While dogs are welcome, it costs 12 CHF *per night*. As if every extra night means that much more work for the hotel staff? They need to clean everything anyway! There’s no daily service either by the way. It felt like a money grab to me, one fixed price would make more sense. Wifi is really bad as well.
But the biggest problem by far was the clueless staff at reception and the total lack of communication. Questions via Booking's chat or email go unanswered. We need a letter from the hotel confirming that one of our bags was stolen (for our insurance) and we're still waiting for this letter, after many promises. It's been over 10 days since we first asked for this letter.
Horrible customer service, ruining what otherwise would've been a great trip.
