Everything was perfect for a 3 night stay, (could have done with a few extra nights in Nimes to see other things nearby)
from early check (14.00) in with the owner, who is very helpful, knowledgeable, and hospitable speaking in French to my wife and English to me, he gave us a 5 star welcome and for the entire time we were staying there,
Room was also very nice and comfortable bed our room (8) looked over a busy cafe/ restaurant square. which was soundproofed when the double glazed doors closed. A nice period building just metres from the Amptheatre and only a 10 minutes walk from the railway station.

This property is ok only if your priority is to stay in an extra-touristy area close to the Arena and main attractions. However, if you care about your stay and are looking for a pleasant hotel, this is not it. I booked it due to at all the good reviews it has, but was negatively surprised when I got there.
The room and bathroom are very run down and are not kept clean. The bed has a plastic sheet underneath the bedsheets which makes it so that it sticks to you during the night and feels sweaty. The hotel itself smells moldy and the cleaning level is just not up to standard. I would not stay again, not even for its affordable price. This is unfortunate as the young man at the reception was lovely and very helpful.
