Brighton House is a 200-year-old, listed building, and has the stairs to confirm this! As we don't have a lift, we advise anyone who has difficulty with stairs to take this into consideration before booking.

I booked a single room that came equipped with a kettle and tea/coffee, an iron and small ironing board, towels, a TV, and the Internet. Also, my own private bathroom. Everything matched my expectations, it was surprisingly quiet considering the location, and it was comfortable. The only reason I didn't give it a perfect score for "comfort" was just because I would have liked to have been able to control the temperature of the shower a bit more, but it was fine, and everything else was great.
The staff are phenomenal, the breakfast was lovely, and they leave pastries and sometimes other things (like really lovely home-made cupcakes!) in the foyer, which came in very handy for me when I was getting back later in the night a bit peckish. Very friendly, accommodating, and helpful staff in a fantastic location.
This isn't so much a dislike as the only minor gripe I can think of, and it's only that I would have liked the shower to get a bit hotter (but it wasn't freezing or anything, totally acceptable).

Good location near the beach. No parking, but nearby car parks. Lovely staff, who even packed us a breakfast to go as we had an early flight. Clean rooms with tall ceilings for my tall husband. Good communication.
The main hub of Brighton is a bit of a walk down the road, which is good if you like a stroll. There is no parking and the car parks are not cheap. The car park in Regency Square is not open 24/7, so need to be careful that you have access to your car when you need it. There are other car parks nearby. There are some stairs to walk up to your room and no lift.

All of the staff were wonderful and breakfast was stunning.
The stairs were a complete nightmare.The room was very disappointing for the price we paid.The curtains were dirty and stained.The room needed a coat of paint, the paint-work was shoddy. The furniture looked as if it had come from a charity shop.The carpet near the window was shredded and had holes in. I am sure you sell this room all of the time but if I owned this hotel I would be embarrassed to sell it to customers. But, saying all of that the bathroom was clean and stunning.It was as if it did not go with the room.
