Impressive architecture on a large area, with an interesting history. The interior and decor is however modern with a typical scandi touch. One could anticipate that a hotel of this size and profile (conferences etc) would have a"cold" atmosphere. But the staff is very friendly and informel in the right way. Everyone is smiling an says "God morgen". The food is excellent, and the waiters as well. We would especially like to mention Sara, perfect service with a smile :-) The Spa was visited twice a day, we used the pool, not the other facilities that much. Big pluss with long opening hours.

There should be offered a wider range of sizes in bathrobes and slippers. Fortunately my husband and I had brought our own. We missed a minifrigde; we like a coffee with milk before breakfast and we also have medicine that requires cold storage. The problem was solved by leaving the cooling element to the staff to freeze over night. A bit unpractical.

This is an exceptional place, in natural surroundings close to the fjord and with woods around. The spa is phenomenal, it’s not the most modern or stylish but it has everything one can ask for (including an amazing and unique salt wall) staff are very helpful and friendly - can’t wait to visit again.

Check was a drama. After 20 min in line, i was 45 min too early at check. Had to wait till 1500. And waiting in line again for checking in. Then they said : so sorry your room is not ready yet. In fact it took me 2 hrs to get into the room. Beds have been very soft of room 502. So soft that i could not sleep and ended on the floor to sleep. That was better then the bed. Next morning i complained and they would take care to lay a wooden board under the matras. Could be a solution… After diner in the room back. No board under matras. So at check in again at 2100 hr complained again and they could give me another room. Not so funny to move your stuff again late evening. But room 500 had a good bed. (Not a hangmat matras). Unfortunately i had no time for the spa in the evening anymore. I requested to get a free night, but got in the end a small discount compared with the 350 euro for one night sleeping on the floor. Improvement on matrasses needed, as thats fundamental for a 5 star hotel. Hope they will also improve service at check in. In principal it has been in the past a great place to go. Maybe i was just very unlucky.
