The location couldn’t have been in a better location and had amazing views from the living room window, which is what I believe you are being charged for. Host was very communicative and the apartment looks exactly like the pictures. I felt safe and had a good nights sleep both nights.
The apartment was definitely overpriced, in my opinion. I had cold water both nights even though I turned on the boiler and it was cleaned but when I opened the toilet, even though it had a paper on it to show it was cleaned, there were remnants of whoever used the toilet last.

The photos of the property and view were accurate, and I could not take better photos. There is no way to leave Portofino with a negative opinion....simply one of the most beautiful spots in the world.
We had difficulty contacting the management team. there were some issues with the apartment, primarily the WiFi. Management might have known before our arrival, but we were never able to use the WiFi during our entire stay at the property. Parking is expensive. Very disappointing.

Superb location right on the harbour.
Spacious, clean apartment.
OK, IF YOU ARE GOING TO STAY HERE YOU SHOULD KNOW THE FOLLOWING:
The keys for the apartment are not available in Portofino. You will have to collect them in nearby Santa Margherita Ligure. As we were travelling by train this was not convenient to have to stop in this town and walk to the office with our luggage.
When we got to the office the key safe wouldn’t open. The keys were in a different safe we discovered. In the safe were two different sets of keys. This was confusing. We called our contact person about this - they didn’t answer. We eventually got someone else on the phone who said that both sets of keys were for our apartment. We explained that they were different. They said “no, they’re the same”.
We made it to the apartment in Portofino - lovely location.
We couldn’t get the front door open, but more on that later.
BE AWARE - there is a very long, very steep, very narrow and very dark flight of stairs from the front door to the apartment. You may find this difficult to manage.
BE AWARE - the apartment is not signed in any way. You’ll have to guess where it is.
BE AWARE - the apartment has nothing provided for you. There’s no tea/coffee/milk/biscuits/snacks/anything. There’s a “kitchenette” but you need to know that there’s no supermarket in Portofino to buy anything.
We paid $900AUD for two nights. Would it be so hard to provide at least something for the arriving traveller??
ALSO - the shower does not drain properly, and there were what looked like small blood stains on the sheets.
ALSO - during the night some sort of plumbing noise/vibration went on at the rear of the apartment, for hours at a time. I was unable to resolve this.
BACK TO THE FRONT DOOR - after we went out for a while we returned to find that the key wouldn’t open the front door. At all. Totally stuffed. The lock is old and sticky and needs replacing. Eventually we got a guy from the shop next door to try it and we finally managed to get it open.
