About this lodge
This fantastic property is an original gate lodge of the Ashford Castle Estate. This fantastic property is an original gate lodge of the Ashford Castle Estate. The Castle dates back to the 12th Century and is now a world famous 5 star hotel. The Lodge is very close to the village historic village of Cong. It has recently undergone an extensive renovation and has been decorated to a very high standard to give it a modern feel while still retaining all its character and charm. Great attention to detail has been paid with clever use of modern materials and antique furniture throughout.
This unique property offers guests the opportunity to stay in an historic property with the benefits of all modern conveniences.
The large kitchen / dining area has a new modern kitchen added and has beautiful French doors opening out onto a lovely private, newly paved limestone terrace. It also has a double folding door leading into the cosy sitting room which is furnished with a comfortable sofa and armchairs and it is equipped with a wood burning stove for those snug evenings in by the fire.
The three bedrooms are all furnished with antique beds and wardrobes to retain the original charm of the lodge.
The bathroom has a very spacious shower with a wet room floor finish.

As a gardener, I loved the setting. Wonderful patio and a small hidden garden were delightful. The Lodge was very clean and comfortable. The Property Mgr, Philip, was most accommodating and very informative about the surrounding area. Being so close to Ashford Castle didn't hurt either. I would definitely stay there again.

The house was beautiful and the location on the grounds of Ashford castle was magical and amazing. Lots of peaceful walks and things to see and do. Beautiful gardens and forest area to explore.

Excellent location for our stay. So close to the wedding venue at the Lodge at Ashford Castle and lovely to have access to the grounds at Ashford Castle. The Gamekeepers Lodge was the ideal spot for our family.

We had a lovely stay on the grounds of Ashford Castle. This cottage was cozy and comfortable. Cong is a wonderful village with great people. We particularly recommend the Hawk Walk at the Falconry School.
