About this cottage rental
A comfortable and elegant self-catering 2 bedroom unit for 4 people that is both peaceful and relaxing. It is close to some of Cape Towns best Constantia wine farms. The beautiful beach and harbour is just 3 kms away whilst the V& A and city centre are a mere 20 minute drive away. It is attached to the main house and has its own private entrance, veranda and braai (barbeque) area. Secure parking on premise. Guests are welcome to make use of the stunning swimming pool or sip cocktails on the desk whilst watching the sea and sunset. It is a 10 minute walk to beach, public transport, restaurants and shops.
Provided in the unit: uncapped free WIFI; coffee, tea and sugar; shower with towels, toilet paper, hand soap and hand lotion; double bed in each room; fully equipped kitchenette; hair dryer; kettle braai (BBQ/Weber) and braai utensils.

We had a very nice experience during our 4 night stay. The host was very easy to communicate with and accommodating of our arrival and departure schedule. The apartment has two clean, well appointed bedrooms and a full bathroom. The kitchen facilities are somewhat limited (two countertop burners, no oven, small fridge), but this was irrelevant to us as we had no plans to cook. One of the bedrooms has access to the backyard which has beautiful views of Hout Bay. The walk from the apartment into town was an easy ~10 minutes downhill (we never did the walk back up since we would typically come back late from our activities/dining and were in an Uber; I imagine the walk back-up might have been more difficult due to the uphill). The wi-fi worked well and we appreciated it was on a small generator so would still work during the daily power outages (an issue related to the S. Africa power infrastructure - not related to the apartment). There are several lovely places to explore in Hout Bay and the majority of it can be traversed on foot if you're not adverse to some walking. We would stay again if we came back.

We had a wonderful time here in Hout Bay. The property was itself was very quiet and relaxing with lovely gardens, views and pool, but near to the centre of Hout Bay with its great beach and restuarants. The property had everything we needed and there was a lovely powerful shower. The Host, Michelle was very welcoming-she even waited up for us when we arrived after midnight from a late flight. A special mention must go to Blu the dog who is very friendly but very polite! We would happily return and can recommend this as a great place to stay. Thank you, Mary and Geoff

From the moment we arrived at Stoneyview Michelle made us feel really welcome as did her dog Blue who greeted us each morning and welcomed us in the driveway after we had been out for the day. Michelle even left a bottle of wine and some sweets for our first evening in the cottage. She provided us with lots of useful information about local restaraunts and shops and was easily contactable for any queries we might have.
We had a wonderful relaxing staying at the property, which is really peaceful. The accomodation itself was extremely comfortable and clean with decor in keeping with the setting. All the amenities we needed to make meals were available. Michelle even arranged for our clothes to be washed and hung out to dry on the Monday after we arrived. She also provided lots of interesting books to read both fiction and non-fiction and some games to play, which were very useful on the one or two rainy days during our stay.
There is an area to sit outside to have breakfast and a beautiful decking area around the swimming pool with sunloungers and outdoor furniture, which has magnificent views over Hout Bay. There is also a shaded area in the garden with a hammock and table and chairs, where we were able to cool off and have a relaxing lunch.
The property is within walking distance of the local shops and restaraunts and the beach, although it is a steep walk up the hill back, so we tended to drive however this would be doable in an Uber also.
Stoneyview is in a great position to get to Chapman's Peak Drive, Constantia wine estates and Kirstenbosch and many other places besides. If you didn't have a car I believe it would be fairly easy to get around on the red hop on hop off buses.
We had an amazing stay at Stoneyview and thanks so much Michelle for making our time at your place so memorable and for your fantastic hospitality, we would definitely stay at Stoneyview again if we came back to Capetown, many thanks Adrienne and Lionel.

Location good, property attractive. Beds comfortable. Unwelcoming on arrival and departure Badly maintained. No TV ( people dont watch TV any more!!!) No full length mirror. Broken blinds on several windows. Wind coming in next to bed UNDER window cills. Other windows need attention. Inadequate shelving in bathroomCooking facilities 2 rusty electric plates and a microwave with no instructions. Ironing board with very badly worn cover. Not much to recommend it and certainly wouldnt stay there again
