The apartment was tastefully designed and decorated. It is located in the old historic center with its typical and characteristic small streets. The small village Montescaglioso is a hidden gem near Matera. It is situated at the top of a hill which gives a panoramic view over de valley.
Due to its location in the historic center, it is impossible to park a car next to the apartment. If you have heavy suitcase(s), you need to take into account a walk of about 300 meters and a staircase with 27 steps to the apartment on the first floor. For elderly people this is not ideal, but the location compensates a lot.

Sehr schöne Wohnung mit drei Schlafzimmern. 1 Schlafzimmer ist ein Durchgangszimmer (Einzelbetten) zu einem der Schlafräume und ohne Fenster. Wir nutzen es zum Ablegen unserer Kleidung. Ich mochte die Lage der Wohnung mitten in den alten Gassen, neben einer Kirche. Auto abstellen war dank des Vermieters gar kein Problem. Vielleicht 100m Fußweg zur Unterkunft. (Parkausweis lag in der Wohnung)
Einchecken war durch genaue Erklärung schnell erledigt.
Der Ort ist ruhig (besonders Mittags! ), trotz der Enge. Die Terrasse haben wir gern genutzt. Allerdings waren wir auch allein, sonst kann es passieren, daß die Leute die das obere Appartement gemietet haben, an einen vorbei laufen. Die Fenster haben alle Fliegengitter und können in den zwei Schlafzimmern verdunkelt werden.
Als ein Fest im Ort statt fand, war es schon etwas lauter in den Gassen, aber die Fenster schließen so gut, dass man nix hört.
Fußläufig gibt es zwei kleine Supermärkte. Mit Chance haben sie offen.
Die Betten hatten einen Matratzenschutz, der sehr knisterte.
