Family Home in the Heart of La Jolla
Still owned by the original family, this comfortable home built in 1942 has been the source of many happy memories over the decades. Located in a beautiful residential neighborhood of La Jolla, this home is sure to make you feel comfortable right away with so much of its original charm.
Hardwood flooring throughout and a spacious layout is perfect if you're staying as a group. Three comfortable bedrooms and a bonus room (with sofa sleeper) provide the ideal setting for a family game or movie night retreat. The original kitchen just welcomed a facelift with freshly painted cabinets, but didn't lose character with its vintage style sink and countertops. You're sure to cook up some memorable family meals in this spacious kitchen, equipped with Viking appliances and even some 'classic' cookbooks that are sure to bring back memories of your own childhood.
With so much space to enjoy family time around the dining room table or in the living room, you'll be equally delighted by the beautiful outdoor space – a rare find in the immediate area! Your private backyard oasis provides yet another opportunity for quality time together. Lounge seating around a cozy fire pit, BBQ grill and family-style table for outdoor dining – and a relaxing soak in the hot tub make your stay 'just right' after a long day at the beach or exploring the area.
In the back yard you'll also find fresh avocados when in season! This tree, planted by the family in 1944, stands tall 75 years later, and still produces some of the best avocados around. There is also a delicious fig tree, so when the fruit is ripe, help yourself and enjoy!

This residential neighborhood of La Jolla is very quiet. It sits just ½ mile from the water's edge at the beautiful and serene Windansea Beach. Take the short, 12-minute walk, or enjoy a bike ride on one of the beach cruisers provided. With no shortage of food and beverage choices in the immediate are, you can stay close to home or venture into downtown La Jolla for some of the best restaurants San Diego has to offer. After a meal, why not take in some boutique shopping, art galleries and more!
Other wonderful options include the nearby community of Bird Rock, which also offers shopping and art galleries, the Children's Pool to see the seals, tide pools, Birch Aquarium – the possibilities are endless, and your family will never be bored! House is across the street to a high school. However the neighborhood is quant, charming and within walking distance to restaurants and the beach. Great to have a driveway to park! Darling home with 3 comfortable beds, everything you need.

This property was great for our family! Walking distance to the beach, restaurants, parks, etc. House is nicely laid out so each room has a little separation. Very clean, had all the essentials. We had a fantastic stay and hope to be back soon!

The location and parking were great. The house itself is very old and a certain amount of wear and tear is expected. I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the house itself. There were flies inside the kitchen when we arrived. The walls were dirty. I cleaned off a couple spots near light switches myself. At a very least, it needs an inside painting, and good cleaning. New, the furniture is very old, but reasonably clean.
