This spectacular ground floor unit is a true gem at the Kona Makai. Queen Sized Bed in Bedroom & Queen Sized Blowup mattress for 2 people if needed! The owners keep their property maintained very well & showcase how a Vacation Rental should truly look like. The details put into this property are absolutely remarkable. Any guest staying here will enjoy & appreciate this beautifully decorated condo on famous Alii Drive. The property has 687 interior square feet, with a 172 square foot Lanai! Outdoor Dining Seating Available with a Lounge Chair for Sunbathing!

Kona Makai is a popular oceanfront complex near the heart of Kailua town. Ideal location near shopping, restaurants, and the beach at the Kailua pier. Building 2 is a great location in the complex with it's proximity to the oceanfront pool area.

Lush tropical gardens greet you on the walkway to the ocean front pool and spa. Dream away the hours watching whales in season or dip in the pool or spa. Large BBQ area with kitchen and tables.

Fitness center is well equipped with stationary bikes, tread mill and free weights for indoor workouts. Tennis courts above the covered parking area.

This complex is also gated at night!

*Starting July 22nd Kona Makai will be starting the exterior painting project on Building 4.
Currently they are estimating between 1.5 - 2 Months to complete each building for this work.
Their current order for the painting of the buildings mentioned below with the possible affected dates.
Building 4 7/22 - 9-22
Building 5 9/22 - 11/22
Building 3 11/22 - 1/22
The painting and spalling contractor has agreed to take a break from work for Ironman and the Christmas holidays. Work will stop from October 21st-29th for Ironman. Work will stop from December 23rd- January 3rd for the Holidays
All dates are subject to change and Knutson & Associates has no say or control in if dates are changed. Dates are given by the complex's hired painting vendor.
The mentioned work will be affecting access to units at possible given times between the work being done on the building. Kona Makai will be sending notices of more specific dates that access will be affected between work hours. We unfortunately cannot provide any given dates for this. Other areas such as lanai access will be affected during times as well. Furthermore the AC will also not be allowed during specific times/dates when the work is going on.
Noise and obstructed views are also to be expected between the dates mentioned.
The contractor plans on beginning spalling repairs on building 2 on September 9th , 2024 at 8:00 am. They plan to set up a scaffold at the oceanside end of the building and they will begin work on the column supporting landings in the stairwell. As they proceed, they will be working on leading edges of lanais on both sides of the building, windowsills, walls, and stairs throughout the building. When building 2 is complete they plan on moving to building 1 and then building 6.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our only problem was we have back out drapes at home, so while on vacation the sheer drapes had us awake at the crack of dawn.

We were hesitant about where we wanted to stay because of all the options that are available. It's hard to pick! 2-102 was perfect. It's In one of the closer buildings to the ocean, which is what everyone wants, right? The owners did a AMAZING job with the remodel. We loved it! We will be back!!
