I stayed at Magpie’s Rest for a week late November. I found the location for Dartmoor absolutely spot on as you can drive to Princetown or Two Bridges within About ten minutes. For shops you can drive to Yelveton within a couple of minutes or to Tavistock within about 10 minutes. The property is self contained and above the owners garage and has stairs to the rear to access the property. The property has one living area and a separate bathroom. The main living area is modern and very well kept and I found it to be clean and fresh. The bathroom, again, was modern and very clean with a good shower that provided piping hot water within about 2 seconds. The property also appeared to have real central heating which worked at any time of the day or night. I only say this because I’ve stayed at several properties where they have had Economy 7 heating or immersion heating where it gets cold by about 6pm. Overall I found this property to be excellent value and adequate for a couple and would most certainly stay again.

Can't recommend highly enough. Friendly, warm and unobtrusive hosts. Accommodation was well equipped, is was lovely to have a welcoming cream tea on arrival. Perfectly clean and spotless. Wonderful couples retreat. Dartmoor national park literally on doorstep! Close to great places to visit such as Plymouth and NT properties. Can't wait to visit again!
