The Old Haybarn is located within a lovely hamlet, yet with many attractions within easy reach including Cheddar Gorge and Longleat.. Ground Floor:

Bathroom: Bath With Shower Over, Toilet. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Logs for wood burner included. Travel cot, highchair and stairgate. Private garden with patio and garden furniture. Barbecue. Private parking for 2 cars. EV charging point (at cost, payable to owner). No smoking. Please note: Couples and family bookings only.. Formerly used for storing hay, this barn conversion now provides a comfortable retreat for a country holiday. The living room has a wood burner and, with Freeview TV, is perfect for relaxing. The spacious kitchen/dining room is equipped with modern appliances and a dining table. A convenient utility room houses a washing machine and tumble dryer, and plenty of space for coats, ensuring all the comforts of home. The accommodation includes a kingsize bedroom and a comfortable twin bedroom. The bathroom offers the convenience of a shower over the bath. This former hay barn is located on the edge of Knole, a tranquil and picturesque hamlet within a conservation area.
The cottage is equidistant from the north Somerset coast, with sandy beaches, and the beautiful Dorset coast, with its Jurassic coastline and pretty bays. The Fleet Air Arm Museum and Clark’s Village (with its major brand outlets) are nearby, as are the abbey towns of Sherborne with its two castles along with Glastonbury. Wells has a truly beautiful Cathedral and Bishop’s Palace with delightful garden. Wookey Hole Caves, Cheddar Gorge and Longleat are a little further away, but well worth a visit. Swimming, tennis, golf (1 mile) and excellent fishing (trout and coarse) are within easy reach, alongside excellent local walks and country pubs. Needless to say, there’s something to suit all tastes, with visits to the numerous National Trust properties being recommended, and located close by to all there is to offer, making The Old Haybarn the ideal holiday base for your getaway.

We booked the cottage for our family of 4 for a weeks break. We chose it for its location, very quiet and in the middle of places we wanted to visit. You do have to drive to get to a shop, we took groceries with us. When we arrived Tony was there to greet us and made us very welcome. The cottage is small but just what we wanted and well equipped even though some items have been removed in line with Covid measures. We had a very enjoyable weeks stay and would recommend booking.

The Old Haybarn was a cosy cottage renovated to meet most modern expectations. We were very comfortable as four adults. The only aspect we felt might be considered by the owners would be the addition of a second toilet downstairs.
