The Cotswold Water Park is within close proximity and just a little further afield is the Regency spa town of Cheltenham, offering many visitor attractions, an extensive range of shops, restaurants and the Gold Cup horse racing. There is also The National Arboretum situated at Westonbirt and Oxford, Burford, Stow-on-the-Wold and Lechlade are all easily accessible. Pub serving food ½ mile.

Dove Corrtage is a perfect little retreat, set back well from the quiet main road. Indeed, the only sound you hear is the cooing of the doves. The cottage is very comfortable and has all the equipment you’re likely to need. Sally, the owner, lives very quietly next door and is helpful and unobtrusive. She left a lovely welcome pack and made us some delicious shortbread.We already knew the village having once stayed in the village pub, the Crown at Crucis. There are no amenities in the village but it’s only 3 miles from Cirencester and some out-of-town supermarkets.I would thoroughly recommend this cottage and this location.We spent the week walking in the local villages…Bibury, Burford, Bourton on the Water, the Slaughters and the Cotswolds Water Park. The footpaths are well-signposted and well-maintained.

The cottage is in yard of house owners. We missed a coffee machine (there was a cafitiere) and the shower is a bit old fashioned as electric heating and no possibility to adjust water pressure (it is on or off) which was quite low. The fridge was quite small. The washing machine was nice to have also tv on both bedrooms. We were a bit spoilt with lodge we had in first holiday week and it was maybe to simple for us.
