This charming holiday cottage, one of a pair, provides spacious, comfortable accommodation in one of North Yorkshire’s prettiest villages. From the cottage it is just a short walk to the heart of the village where there are tea rooms, inns, restaurants and a variety of shops. The village is on the edge of the North York Moors National Park and is excellently situated for visiting the many attractions in the area. York with its Minster, museums and historic centre is just over half an hour away. The North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway runs from Pickering. Stately homes, castles, museums, the East Yorkshire coastal resorts and Dalby Forest are all within easy reach. Shops ¼ mile.

A lovely place. Clean. Nicely decorated. It has a large lounge but the kitchen-diner was also comfortably big enough for 4 people.

Another wonderful break in this idilic cottage. We have been staying in the Thornton area almost every year since the early 1990's and almost all of those holidays have been booked through English Country Cottages.
