Summary:
Just steps to the sand, this property has recently been completely updated to provide you with the feel of luxury. Take our boogie boards and beach equipment out for the day and come home to grill on your private front porch or walk to the restaurants in Pacific Beach. This unit is laid out to comfortably sleep 4 in two beds. It has a separate dining area and a full kitchen, so you always have the option of dining in or experiencing the vast array of PB restaurants and bars.
The Space:
This recently renovated 1BR is typical Mission Beach. Efficient use of space maximizes the sense of space. A queen in the bedroom and full pull out in the living room provide the sleeping arrangements. You have a fully stocked kitchen with all you could need to prep (pots, pans, utensils, blender, toaster, microwave, oven, stove and service for up to 6 guests).
Guest Access:
The whole unit is yours. This unit is part of a small and quiet 6-plex with 3 long term and 3 vacation rentals. The patio in the picture is not shared; it is solely for your use.
The Neighborhood:
Mission Beach is an amazing coastal community designed around "courts" with all of the residences facing one another across a sidewalk. That design creates a cozy and homey feel (and also limits the amount of car traffic) making Mission Beach the ideal spot to "live at the beach".
Enjoy several miles of long, flat boardwalks for riding bikes or skateboards or just going on a stroll at sunset. Restaurants, bars and amusement parks are all within walking distance. And of course, the beach on one side to surf or the bay on the other for more casual water play (unless you decide to kayak, stand-up paddle board or sail...all rental options are just minutes away).
Getting Around:
We provide a single covered parking space. It is accessed off the alley and as such can be a tight fit (as with about 90% of the parking spaces at the beach). We recommend a small to midsized car to make it easier to park. We also recommend backing into the spot as that makes it easier to get in and pull out.

Other Things to Note:
This is "typical" beach parking so we do not recommend large cars. The spots will not accommodate anything more than a mid-size car or SUV.
For stays longer than 30 days, I require a deposit in the amount of one month's rent to be paid offline due 60 days prior to arrival as well as a formal lease agreement.
We only offer the air conditioning between May and September

Check-in is virtual, as you'll be provided with a digital Guest Portal and a personalized door code. Vacation Rentals by Aaron is a full-service property management company, and will be available 24-7 in case you need anything during your stay.

I’ll start off by saying the location was great and as promised - steps from the beach. When we arrived though, flies swarmed the carport. Whatever fine flies are flies. The unit was cute, like the photos. But there was ant bait and dead ants all over the kitchen. There wasn’t hot water in the kitchen - again that’s fine. But one morning I went to take a shower - no hot water, I let it run and run and it wouldn’t warm up. Oh also. Our first night there while making dinner a fuse blew and half the units power went out and I had to go flip it back on in the fuse box area that was just gross. But whatever - old unit. I ended up needing to burn some incense in the place because the bedroom smelled of strong urine. When it was time to leave we had until 10, but the cleaning lady was pacing outside waiting for us to leave at 9:30. We hurried to get our things out the door and then had the property manager texting us that the cleaning lady told them we wouldn’t leave until 1, which never happened. Anyways. We left and on the drive home I get a text that the cleaning lady told them we must have smoked INSIDE THE UNIT. I conveyed to the property manager that we did NOT and that I was offended to be accused of that having that I have a daughter I would never expose smoke to!!! No apologies. I was told I could be charged to rid the unit of the smell that I didn’t create. Just rude really. Not my cup
