We booked this home for 7 nights for a family vacation with our children and grandchildren. While the location was ideal and the owner was mostly responsive when we reached out to her, there were a lot of areas that fell short of our expectations, particularly with the price we paid for the week.
While we don't fault the owner or cleaning crew for the previous guests who left later than expected, we were shocked to find sand and hair in almost all of the beds. We don't know why changing the sheets wasn't a priority. The floors were also very dirty. The owner said she would send a cleaning crew on Sunday but only one person came, and we ended up helping her clean because we didn't want her there all day. We washed all the sheets and made all the beds ourselves. When we changed the sheets, we noticed how old and gross the mattresses and mattress protectors were. There were no extra paper products anywhere; for example, none of the bathrooms had extra toilet paper so we quickly ran out. The kitchen was poorly stocked. The house is big enough for 16 people but there were not enough pots, dishes, cups, or silverware. The coffee table in the living room had a big chunk out of the corner making it very sharp. It made us really nervous since it was in the middle of the living space and we had young kids with us. In two of the downstairs bedrooms, the sliding closet doors were unstable and hanging dangerously off the track. The front porch lights were completely out and was not fixed
