We spent a wonderful week at Maison Le Refuge Portais as a family of four. The location is truly special - set next to the old lighthouse, quiet and elevated, with stunning views over the town, the harbor, and out to the sea, yet only a short walk from the center of Port-en-Bessin. The house had everything we needed, including a garden and a large terrace, with plenty of space for everyone. While not everything inside was brand new, it was all well maintained and perfectly usable.The house also proved to be a great base for exploring Normandy: Port-en-Bessin itself offers restaurants, small shops, and a large fish market; Bayeux and Omaha Beach are just around the corner; and destinations such as Cherbourg and Giverny make for excellent day trips. All in all, it was a perfect holiday week for us!

We had a fantastic week here. Location is everything and this didn’t disappoint. Right on a lovely cycle track to Omaha beach (which was beautiful) and right next to the town with a great fishing bustle, lots of restaurants and some souvenir shops. A great centre to explore the history of the area as well as be active.

Lovely cottage on top of the hill. The village is situated between the D-Day landing beaches.
We rented towels and bedding, which was great. The cottage was well equiped. It was lovely.

Schönes Haus, wie in der Beschreibung. Lage oberhalb des Ortes, alles sauber und gepflegt. An schönen Tagen wäre eine Liege auf der Terrasse schön, sonst alles tip top.
