The cottage is situated in the village on a main street and the owner also lives on the property. Normally we rent cottages in the middle of nowhere with preferably only nature around us. So this was a new experience for us.
During the booking process we already had a good contact with the owner Andre. We texted our time of arrival and Andre was there to welcome us. He also arranged a girl friend for translating what was very nice. They showed us the property and also what was strictly private for their family use. As a welcome there was a bottle of wine from the region and cherries from their own garden. We walked through the cottage and they explained everything. The cottage is equipped with everything you could need. Andre came a few times with his daughter to inform if everything was all right and if we needed something. Everything in the cottage was working in good order and the beds were good. Never as good as at home but very acceptable. In the garden at our disposal it was spacious enough to sit in the sun or the shade, whatever you want.
Of course there is always some improvement possible.
1. The information to sink in is always a lot. Don’t forget you usually travelled a lot and are happy to leave your car. We missed a written guide to know what to do with the trash, advice over restaurants in the neighborhood, where the supermarkets are and all that stuff. A lot I am sure they told us, but it is hard to remember and it would be nice if we could see it again on paper.
2. Airco or other cooling device. When we arrived it was very hot and there were some days that the cottage warmed up despite we kept the curtains closed. It would be great if there was a possibility like that.
All and all we had a very pleasant stay and highly recommend this cottage. The road noise did not bother us at all and Andre and his family were very friendly and welcoming. He informed regularly if everything was ok without being present the whole time.

We has a fabulous week in this lovely house . Andre and his family made us feel very welcome . Its ideal for a family of 4 or a couple and in a great location . Its within easy distances to all the major towns for the Christmas markets and also within walking distance to many restaurants in the village of Brumarth . We would love to stay again .

We were greeted by our hosts and welcomed to a sparkling Christmas decorated cottage. Andre and Fabienne are delightful people and the personal service from first contact to the last day was outstanding.
The cottage is cosy and comfortable and tastefully decorated to make you feel at home instantly. The position was perfect for us with secure parking and a large yard that gave us a feeling of being on a farm rather that being in a town. Located out of the hustle and bustle of the city but only a very short drive on the motorway to get into Strasbourg or numerous other large towns nearby. Also a great base to follow the wine road through medieval villages and sightseeing.
I would recommend this cottage for its great location, comfort, security and peace and quite. We would not hesitate to come back again. Thank you Andre and Fabienne for your care above and beyond our expectations!
