About this apartment rental
The beautiful bright apartment 'Villa Roberta' (180m2) is very spacious. The large windows extend across the entire front of the living and dining room and offer fantastic views of the sea and the bay of Sestri Levante.
On the ground floor you find the living and dining room. The comfortable fully equipped kitchen looks onto the garden and the sea. In addition there is a small shower room with toilet. The upper floor has a large master bedroom with a double bed and a second bedroom also with double bed and access to the second large terrace. The third bedroom has bunk beds and leads to a small terrace. Also on the upper floor there is the second bathroom, with bathtub.
The apartment is not a typical holiday apartment, but was a family home that has been kept with love and care over the years by its’ owner, who live in and independent flat in the same house on the lower level. They appreciate guests who respect the calm atmosphere and respect the house and its’ content.
The apartment is ideal for guests who wish to relax in beautiful surroundings.

A large aparment with a superb view on Sestri Levante's bay.
Plus: great view, large apartment, nice terrace, wel equipped, various rooms
Minus: the train station is in the centre in front of the house. It prevents sleeping with the window open. The other minus is the large number and steps to climb to go to the apartment. It caused us not to go out as often as we would normally do. The steps are doable but can lead to some sweating in the heat.

This property is right for some people and definitely wrong for others. Unfortunately, it was wrong for us.
There are 180 steep steps to reach the house from the parking space. There is no other way up. I believe it would be most honest to warn people of this in the listing, which is the point at which people will be making the decision, but the listing makes no mention of it. After we arrived and discovered this issue, when I asked about it, the property manager told me I had been informed in an email. Sure enough, she had mentioned it in an email, but it was buried at the bottom of a very long email, most of which was unimportant duplicative information. I take responsibility for missing this crucial fact, but I do think it would be more honest to state it up front in the listing itself.
The house is very nice, classic Italian mid-century design, mostly well-maintained. The view is spectacular. Although there are other houses on the same hillside, it's mostly woodland, and mosquitos are an issue.
If the steps don't bother you, and if you're not the first person that the mosquitos go for, then this is a nice place to stay.
