About this house rental
The house was built in the 50s of the last century. In 2011 we have completely renovated the house and lovingly restored. A wood-burning fireplace and Larch floors create a cozy atmosphere. The W-LAN can be switched off.
In vegetable garden there are organic herbs and home-grown seasonal vegetables. In late summer / autumn, the pumpkins are harvest fresh. Anyone who wants can get involved with weeding and lawn mowing.
With 2019 we have started a new project: with the acquisition of a 1,500 m2 large meadow, the planting of a scattered meadow with fruit trees from the species conservation program of the "Noah's Ark" is starting. Then 20 trees will be available from July to October with their harvest for our guests.
Bathrooms: with underfloor heating, bath tub, double vanity, infrared sauna, heated towel rail, WC
Living room: with magazines and books to browse, leather couch, regional maps and literature, LED TV (with satellite channels). DVD's in English and German and board games.
Kitchen: ceramic hob (4 fields), refrigerator, dishwasher, coffee maker (filter and Italian espresso machine), toaster, kettle, soda stream, blender, basic food (spices, vinegar, oil ... in organic quality)
Bedroom 1: double bed with lake view, box
Bedroom 2: double bed with lake view, box
Bedroom 3: 1.5 bed (140 cm), box
Reading area: on the first floor with beanbag
Boiler room: Air heat pump coupled with wood stove (fin oven, water-bearing), washing machine
The rent includes the Millstatt Inclusive Card (MIC). The range varies between high and low season. You have free admission to all lake and swimming pools in the region, as well as free admission to some museums and free sea-crossings and toll road. In the village there is "almost" free taxi (1, - per person) by appointment.

The house and the location are great ! The house is cosy and well equiped. It is well located to make trips for hiking, visiting, skiing, ice-skating, etc. The communication with the host was very good.

The house itself is beautiful, as is the view on the lake from the deck. The house has a warm, friendly feeling to it. We loved the kitchen, were we stayed most of the time, but we stayed out of the sitting room due to the lights that we thought to be unwelcoming, too little in number and too bright. The bedrooms were good, roomy and with nice beds. The house is very well equipped, especially the kitchen. We missed a separate or extra toliet and would have loved to have a proper shower. Showering in the bathtub without a showercurtain was manageable, but not ideal.
Overall we a pleasant stay, not in the last place because of the nice owners that took great care in making sure we had a good start of our stay.

We stayed in the house as a family with 2 teenage kids. It was very spacious and convenient but especially the terrace with the beautiful view made this house a perfect spot!
We arrived in the evening after dark, the entrance of the house was a bit difficult to find but once entered we really enjoyed the location. From the house you can walk down to the lake and village, convenient to reach supermarket, restaurants and the swim area.
Franz was a great host and easy communication, the house really has all equipment you can think of.
The spacious bedrooms are upstairs and the bathroom is downstairs which was not really a problem but since the authentic wooden stairs are very squeaky, better to avoid toilet visits during the night as it will wake up the whole family 😀
All in all our visit to Millstadt was definately worthwhile and we would visit again if we are planning for Austria! Big thanks to Franz for being such a good host!
