About this house rental
This pretty stone cottage is located in a panoramic position in the immediate vicinity of the small hamlet of Camella, which in turn belongs to the municipality of Perdifumo. The characteristic vacation home is attractively and at the same time functionally furnished and is ideal for a small family thanks to the double and the twin bedroom. On the wonderful, large panoramic terrace you can barbecue in the evening, take your meals outside or just relax after a day at the beach or a trip to the mountains and unwind with a glass of good country wine. Perdifumo itself is located in the western part of beautiful Cilento on the northern slope of 1130-meter Monte Stella, the highest mountain you will find in the vicinity, and is part of the Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park. The area of Cilento in the Campania region, in the south of Italy, between Paestum in the north, Sapri in the south and the Vallo di Diano in the east, is an insider's tip for those who love authentic Italy far from the usual bed and breakfast resorts. Here you will find small, characteristic hamlets in the hills with a wonderful panoramic view, chic coastal villages with free and equipped sandy beaches or small, idyllic bathing bays with crystal clear water, where you can drink an aperitif in the evening on the piazza or where a small harbor invites you for a walk. Art and culture lovers or nature lovers will also get their money's worth here. Thanks to the pleasant air and water temperatures in late spring as well as in autumn, sometimes even late fall, this region is not only suitable for your summer vacation, but also for a beach or bathing vacation in the early or late season. For a relaxing beach day, we recommend Santa Maria di Castellabate, a picturesque little town with beautiful sandy beaches just outside the town. Santa Maria, as it is also called in the short version, also has a beautiful beach promenade, an ancient part of town directly on the sea and a variety of bars and restaurants. In an elevated position above the town and reachable in a few minutes by car is Castellabate itself, an ancient hamlet dating back to 1123, a picturesque labyrinth of alleys, stairways and small squares that allows the viewer to enjoy wonderful panoramic views of the surrounding hills on the one hand and a long stretch of coastline on the other. Don't miss a visit to the famous temple complex of Paestum in the north of Cilento, which is only about 24 km away.

Property spotlessly clean & well equipped cooking utensils (a kettle & microwave would have been beneficial though). Beautiful spacious outside terrace with stunning view, only criticism was no sun loungers only chairs if you wanted to soak up some sunshine. Very friendly locals, especially as we did not speak Italian! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Only negative was double bed had extremely hard mattress & would have been useful to have some info in property re things to see/do/places to eat nearby, maybe a guestbook with other guest’s recommendations & a small map of village pinpointing location of cafe/pizzeria/mini market.
