About this house rental
This vacation accommodation is an impressive watchtower that has been transformed into a cozy vacation accommodation with a special flair. The vacation home is located in the open countryside in a very panoramic and quiet position about 8 km from the characteristic village of Pitigliano of Etruscan origin. The tower extends over 3 levels and it also has an ancient basement in tufa stone, which, however, remains closed. Guests have at their disposal, apart from the large private property that surrounds the tower, a biopool with magnesium salt exchange (maximum depth 1.70 m), a large equipped terrace and a spacious lawn with barbecue. The access is through about 800 m of gravel road. Arrival exclusively 18.00 - 19.30, departure within 09.00.

We (4 adults) stayed at the property in September 16. The house is situated in the countryside, about 10 km from Pitigliano. Advantage – it is very quiet and you are really undisturbed. Disadvantage- the last km is a dirt road, bumpy and with quite a few holes.
The lady in charge was very nice and accommodating
Three bedrooms come with three bathrooms which are rather well furbished. The room in the basement is nice but the window is very small, hence it is dark. The middle room has a bed and a sofa bed, so theoretically 4 people could sleep there but that would feel quite cramped. The top room is wonderful, all around are windows and it is spacious. BUT – you cannot open the windows fully as they are very big. Thus there is no breeze to be had and the room is hot, even in September we had to use a fan at night. I cannot imagine what it is like in full summer. For some people it might be important to know that the bathroom is not really separated from the bedroom as the separating wall does not meet the ceiling. AND – bring your own hairdryer and an adaptor for the socket.
Sitting room and kitchen are one room with good equipment and a fire place which was very nice as the second half of our stay was rainy. Disadvantage – the sofa is old, sunken and not comfortable. The house is advertised for 8 – if 4 people want to share a bedroom - fine. It’s fIne when you can be outside, but the sitting -kitchen-room is too small for 8 inside for a comfortable evening. Sitting arrangements outside though are nice and inviting with an oven for pizza.
One thing was really annoying:
The house comes with a swimming pool. The water is quite cool but hey – it was September .No chemicals are being used; the water is permanently pumped and filtered. We liked the idea – until we found out that the electricity bill at the end was more than 130 € for one week due to the pool! I think that tenants should be aware of this rather high extra cost. Best idea would be to include the electricity in the rent.

Overall we had a lovely stay. The terrace, garden and pool are fantastic and very beautiful. The house was infested with woodworm Beatles that were not pleasant and the rooms were too hot. More fans were needed.
The extra charge for gas was rather extortionate at €28 a day considering it was summer and we hardly used any. The cleanliness of the property could also have been a bit better.
Considering its price I would have expected more from the interior. The outside was excellently
