About this house rental
It took us many years to painstakingly restore our old house which holds much of my family's history. We have just now completed the interior renovation as well as the addition of the courtyard's extensive stonework, providing greater privacy. Also newly built is an exterior stone barbecue fireplace and the inclusion of the old house marble sink. Our house has retained many remnants of the old days to which a few modern elements were added, resulting in lovely, cozy, private space for your visit. We hope your stay at Casa Vaso will fulfill your dreams, be it a tranquil and restful vacation or a lively and action-filled adventure, should you decide to explore the island with its many gorgeous beaches, tavernas, and spas. The house is located next to the village church at very close proximity to several tavernas, a small market, bakery, etc. A 2 minute walk will bring you to the beautiful pebble beach of Xylosirtis. The house is located at 5 Km (3 miles) from the island capital of Agios Kirikos with its many shops, bars and restaurants.

This was est this stay at Casa Vaso. Family of four. We love the island & Casa Vaso is ideal for our family. It is a perfect location to chill and discover the southern shore of the island.

I am very familiar with the island and Simon's renovated old island home is one of the best done. It's has modern amenities, but kept the feel of the traditional island home with exposed stone and beamed ceiling. It is very well equipped. Eleni, your hostess personifies the warmth the Ikaria's are known for. The town of Ksylosirti is about a ten minute car ride from the island's capital city where you can find a variety of retail stores and of course cafes and restaurants. The pebble beach, is about a five to eight minute walk from the house. It is a somewhat steep walk though. There are three restaurants near the house that are open during the summer with two very walkable. There is a souvlaki shop steeps from the house and an old fashion cafe (that serves mostly coffee).
The only negatives, and they are very minimal, is that the home at night could have brighter lights and the shower could be bigger. However, the overall amenities of the how far outweigh these minor points. We stayed there close to seven weeks and loved it. We plan to return again next year. If you plan to stay on the south side of the island, you can't beat the value!

We had a delightful moment at Casa vaso where we have been staying in Family for two weeks.
The house is a typical Ikarian that has been renovated with a lovely sens of architecture & décoration.
It has all the modern comfort and if you miss anything Simon&Eleni will do their best to provide it.
Ikaria is a must to discover.
