About this villa rental
Villa Ciany is a charming Provencal, detached family villa with air conditioning set in mature gardens and enjoying magnificent views over the Bay of Villefrance and Cap Ferrat. The villa is situated approximately 10 km from Nice airport, 12 km from Monaco and 24 km from the Italian.
This villa and gardens are south facing and enjoy the sun throughout the day. Being in an elevated position, the views across the Bay of Villefranche are magnificent. The villa benefits from a heated pool, which is serviced throughout the year. There is a covered pergola beside the pool, which is ideal for eating meals out during the warmer months and in the evenings with seating for 8 plus guests. In the pergola, we have a fridge / wine cooler and loungers for use by the pool. A maid or our manager will meet guests on arrival and arrange cleaning etc. A gardener tends the gardens 5 hours a week and will dispose of the refuse. As villa Ciany is within easy traveling distance of Nice, Monaco and the Italian border by car or train, there is plenty to do for each individual taste. The villa is well furnished and in excellent condition. There is a large open space lounge with French doors leading to the terrace, also a spacious dining hall and separate study. A large secure garage is available.

We had an incredible time as a family of six in the South of France and staying at Villa Ciany was a big part of our successful vacation. Let’s start with the view. This well-located villa has the truly classic view of Villefranche Bay, Cap Ferrat Peninsula, Beaulieu Bay, and of course the Med. This villa which I believe was built in the late 19th century has certainly stood the test of time in remarkable fashion. There is a lot of space inside and out with three bedrooms with adjacent bathrooms, along with an office that can be used as a bedroom. The common areas include a well-appointed kitchen with everything you could possibly need, for example ,champagne buckets and champagne flutes, wine glasses, kitchen utensils, and it even has the fanciest Nespresso coffee machine that I have ever seen. The home also has a living room with two separate groupings and a television, and a dining room that no one uses because the highlight of the villa is the pergola / pool complex where all our meals were taken when we didn’t go out. The pergola has an outdoor dining table with great views, and has a fridge, wine fridge, and freezer. Adjacent to the pergola and pool are a half bath and shower which comes in very handy after long walks or hours by the pool. We managed to enjoy this property without a car although some may not be able to do so. Finally, the service at this property is fantastic. The owner is responsive, the manager was extraordinarily helpful, and a good caretaker.

The stand out feature of this property is the sensational view of the bay at Villefranche-sur-Mer from the terrace. However the property itself is also worthy of much praise. It’s been beautifully and tastefully restored, blending the original, elegant exterior and lush gardens, with modern, clean and stylish kitchen and bathrooms inside. The kitchen is extremely well equipped with high end appliances, including a wine cooler. Outside in a block by the pool is another shower room and toilet, as well as another fridge and wine cooler by the large dining terrace. The house is beautifully cool thanks to a very effective air conditioning system and the beds all extremely comfortable. There were 6 of us (three couples) and we loved our week here. The restaurant and bars in the harbour were just a 10-15 minute slow walk away down two long flights of steps. We walked down and four of our group Uber’d Back up! (8-10 Euros).Along the sea front in either direction, beaches are a short walk away, as is the train station for direct trains to Nice, Monaco, Menton etc. The Villa was a real treat for us; a taste of the high life! The owner was very helpful prompt answering any emails regarding questions we had.Anything negative? Not really. If a forth couple were going, they would be on a fold out sofa bed in the downstairs study and although every bedroom had it’s own bathroom, two of them weren’t quite en suite; they were either next door or across the landing, but neither of these were an issue for us.We would highly recommend this place if you are considering Villefranche.
