Villa Karteros is one of that spacious and welcoming villas ticking all the boxes for a perfect holiday in Greece: 5 bedrooms, sea views, large private pool, manicured gardens, great area close to sandy beach and conveniently located just a short transfer away from Heraklio airport. Attracting repeat guests year after year for its charming atmosphere and high value for money, Villa Karteros is fully air-conditioned and can accommodate easily up to 10/11 guests. Relax by the large garden, or sit in the terrace, or enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool, or take a walk down to the beach (which is 800m away): Villa Karteros will surprise you!
Inside the villa is set over 3 floors, with the main entrance which is located in the middle floor. The main floor (middle floor) features a large lounge with TV, sofas, dining area, fully equipped kitchen and 2 balconies. There are also a welcoming twin bedroom and a family shower room on this floor. Stairs lead respectively up to the upper floor and down to the garden level. The upper floor, airy and spacious, comprises 2 bedrooms (one double with sea facing balcony and one twin), a family bathroom with bathtub and a sitting area with a sofa bed (for the 11th guest, if required). The lower floor, which also provides direct access to the gardens, features an additional, fully equipped kitchen, dining area, sitting area, 2 bedrooms (one double, one with twin beds) and a family shower room. A utility room with washing machine and an outdoor gym are also available for the guests to enjoy. The interiors of Villa Karteros are particularly spacious and welcoming, traditionally furnished yet functional, ideal for large families or groups of friends.
The outdoor areas are truly stunning. With lawn, tall palm trees, scented flowers, shrubs and sea-views, they perfectly complement the spacious interiors of the villa. For the exclusive use of the guests, there is a large private pool measuring 6m x 13.5m (depth 1.4m), provided with comfortable sunbeds and shades. The pool (lit at night) is surrounded by lawned areas, perfectly kept and perfect for sunbathing, playing or relaxing. The lovers of al-fresco dining will love the barbecue and the outdoor dining areas, while the most active guests will love the horse riding facilities and water sports that the nearby village of Karteros can offer.

Positiv fanden wir: sehr großes, geräumiges Haus, teilweise mit altem Charme, schöner Garten, viele nette Sitzplätze, sehr schöner und auch gepflegter Pool. Balkone mit viel Platz und sehr schön zum Sitzen.
Lage zum Flughafen: 10 Minuten per Taxi, Lage zum sehr netten Strand: 15 min zu Fuß. Zur Bsshaltestelle ebenfalls zu Fuß ca. 15 Minuten, von dort ca. 20 Minuten per Bus in das Zentrum von Heraklion. Das war praktisch. Auch einen Abstellplatz für das Leihauto gab es gegenüber des Grundstücks.
Negativ fielen aber folgende Punkte auf: ruhig liegt das Haus nicht, es gibt Straßenlärm und Fluglärm, wenn auch nicht ständig, aber doch regelmäßig. Die Flugzeuge haben uns vor allem am Anfang nicht gut schlafen lassen. Man kann zum Strand bzw. in den Ort zu Fuß gehen, der Weg ist aber nicht sehr schön, direkt an einer befahrenen Straße entlang, ohne Bürgersteig , und im Dunkeln nicht empfehlenswert. Das Haus war nicht sehr sauber, zwischendurch, wurden aber zweimal Bettücher und Handtücher gewechselt und wohl etwas durchgewischt. Die Küche war in schlechtem Zustand, dreckig bei der Anreise, die Spülmaschine total verkalkt, wir haben sie nicht genutzt. In der Mikrowelle stand altes Essen. Der Backofen war sehr schmierig und nicht funktionstüchtig. Ich wies darauf hin, aber es kam keine Reaktion. Die untere Wohnung ist wohl nicht so oft in Benutzung, in der Küche dort gab es kein Geschirr, Töpfe oder Ähnliches (war wohl alles in die obere Kücke "gewandert"), das Bad dort war nicht sehr sauber.
Wir hatten trotz dieser negativen Punkte einen guten Urlaub. Das Wetter war wunderbar, das Meer und der Pool herrlich. Insgesamt haben wir uns arrangiert. Trotzdem würde ich dieses Haus nicht noch einmal buchen.
