About this villa rental
The villa spread over three floors and covers a total of 350 sq meters.
The bedrooms one situated on the upper floors and the ground floor has ample living space, with two living rooms, kitchen, dining roo, and side terrraces.
A large veranda with a wood burning stove, a gradenwith numerous threes and plants and a large car park, sets the scene for summer parties cerimonies, wedding reception, etc...
Torre agli alberi enjoys a fresh ventilated climate and is muche cooler from Florence, which is at sea levele and is hot and humid during summer months.
You will enjoi the silence of the country side far from main roads and small but chaotic towns.
Torre agli alberi is within a small natural protected area. , with the oppotunity to view local wild life from the terraces at around dusk, deer, wild boar, porcupines.
The rural roadleading to the villa is about 1 km from the nearst small hamlet “Falgano” and abort 2,5 km from Borselli .
This road is suitable for most cars but is not for sports cars !!
The antique Torre agli alberi is situated on one of the many hills surrounding Florence, at a height of about 520 meters above sea level. It is in a dominat position and is believed to have been one of many look out towers in the area. Hence the panoramic views of the sourrounding conutry side. Later it become part of a hunting reserve.
From three generations it has been the proprety of Lamperi family from Florence, it was purcheased at the end of the fyfties. To be used as summer home.
Variuos small towns are within 8 or 9 km of villa,one of the most important of these at 9 km is rufina. Rufina is a small but busy town with most necessary conveniences, super market, bars, petrol station, train station. So is the same for Pontassieve with a really nice historical medieval centre, markets, and train station with frequent trains to e from Florence 10 – 15 min ride!
Also at 2,5 km of country road is Borselli there you will find a general store and bar selling local product and newspapers.
Other small historic are close by, like Pelago at a distance of 4,5 km with a medieval centre square.
On the neighbourhoorning hills are importamt Chianti Wine producers, with restoration point for light lunches and dinner, and organized visits with wine tasting.One of these is Marchese de Frescobaldi and the castle of Nipozzano.
The area is famous for pecorini cheeses, prosciutto and porcine mushrooms.
On the road from Pontassieve past Borselli after a few kilometers you arrive at the passo della consuma at a height of 1050 mt above sea level, this area is popular with cyclist and bikers, from here it is also possible to trek and is close to the nature reserve of Vallombrosa, home of abbazia,which is still in use and ids home to a monks who still prepare liquors,soap creams from herbs found in the neighbouring forest.

Summary of reviewsAmazing house in a special location surrounded by nature. Spacious old family house with everything you need. Stunning views from the terraces. Access road can be challenging, but manageable. Close to Florence. We would love to come back!

Geweldig huis op bijzondere locatie, midden in de natuur. Doordat het wat hoger is gelegen is de temperatuur in de zomer aangenaam. Het is een oud familiehuis en dat is zichtbaar in de inrichting. Alles is in ruime mate aanwezig! Klein verbeterpuntje: de koelkast is aan vervanging toe. Prachtig uitzicht vanaf de terrassen. De toegangsweg is niet gemakkelijk, maar met een niet al te lage auto lukt het wel tussen de rotsen door te laveren. Suggestie: een oude terreinwagen beschikbaar stellen aan de gasten voor het vervoer over het pad vanaf de weg. In de directe omgeving hebben wij geen levendige dorpjes gezien, maar Florence is goed te bereiken.
Wij komen graag nog eens terug!

Eine traumhafte Villa mit viel Platz! Wir hatten eine wunderbare entspannte Zeit hier. Die Gastgeber waren immer für uns erreichbar und sehr hilfsbereit.
Der Weg durch Wald und Feld zur Villa ist ein wenig holperig, aber für einen normalen PKW kein allzugroßes Problem.
Ich würde jederzeit wieder kommen.

Nous étions deux adultes avec nos neuf enfants et nous sommes très heureux de notre séjour en Toscane.
La maison est une maison de famille vaste, agréable et bien équipée avec, en plus, un charme très appréciable. Elle est tout à fait semblable à sa description et une grande famille comme la nôtre n'y était pas à l'étroit.
Les trois terrasses permettent d'avoir une vue magnifique sur les collines environnantes à différents moments de la journée.
Le propriétaire, avec qui je n'ai eu que des échanges par mail, nous a fourni tous les renseignements utiles et s'est montré très avenant.
Les personnes chargées de nous accueillir sur site étaient charmantes et attentionnées.
Le seul bémol à ce tableau idyllique est le chemin d'accès très chaotique. Il vaut mieux ne pas avoir une voiture trop basse.
Ce dernier point pris en compte, je recommande donc, sans réserve, cette location qui se situe à une distance raisonnable du chemin de fer permettant de rejoindre facilement le centre de Florence.
Ce sera pour nous un très bon souvenir ...

Posto incantevole ma isolato, immerso nella natura. Abbiamo scelto qst vacanza alternativa da fare con i bimbi causa Covid ed è stato un'ottima scelta.
