Mondolfo belongs to a coastal territory occupied since the neolithic period, already known in Roman times and became well, with the foundation of the very important Abbey of San Gervasio of Bulgaria, the heart of the expansion of Christianity in the whole valley of Cesano, and retaining the largest sarcophagus of Ravenna Marche. Fortified city on the sea, castle enclosed by a well preserved double curtain wall reinforced by a mighty bastion, looking on the Adriatic coast and the mouth of Cesano. Important Land of the Duchy of Urbino, known in those years great prosperity and well-being, with the construction of noble palaces and churches rich in art, history and faith. Thanks to the construction of the railway line near the coast, by Pope Pius IX in 1846, the town of Marotta could know a significant development so as to become today's famous seaside resort.

La mia compagna ed io siamo stati pienamente soddisfatti della settimana passata a Mondolfo, sia all'interno delle mura del borgo medievale sia all'interno delle mura dell'alloggio in via Marconi, gestito con molta cordialità e professionalità. Abbiamo intervallato diverse gite nella campagna circostante il borgo a caccia di chiese (e ce ne sono di veramente stupende!) con discese al mare presso la vicina Marotta, per rosolare un po' al sole. La meteo ci ha assistiti, sempre sole tranne l'ultimo pomeriggio, che è stato comunque gradevole poiché la casa offre un ambiente confortevole e funzionale da tutti i punti di vista. Non possiamo che elogiare queste terre ricche di storia e natura, e naturalmente chi ci ha albergato.
